The guitar is sturdy and more durable than the previous Rock Band 1 guitar. Since I got used to only needing to hit the strum bar very lightly, some of my hits didn't register every now and then because I didn't strum it hard enough. It's a minor complaint because I know they made the strum bar more durable and sturdy for those who are used to guitar hero or used to strumming with more strength.
Yeah. Definitely an upgrade. But just throwing this out there, since at this moment in time, the cheapest one on here is 118$ used. God I wanted to throw my RB1 wireless out the flippin' window. The strummer on this one actually works, and when I tilt it, it like, does it's overdrive. You can buy a new one for 79.00$ (including tax and shipping) from bestbuy.com. Just save you a little cash.
It just has a great look and feel to it, and I can't really imagine any improvements. Overall, this is a great, well-made, smartly-designed controller. It looks super - even the fake wood, about which I was skeptical until I saw it. The keys feel great, the strum bar is good, and I've had no problems playing in the few weeks since it arrived. A high recommend.
I am very impressed with the quality of the new Rock Band 2 guitars. I have had my guitar for 2 months or more and play almost every day and I am still on the original batteries. I'm excited to see what they do with future relases. The battery life is extra EXTRA Long. The buttons are quick and sliding between the orange and blue is a dream. The newer strum mechanism is much easier to hit the fast notes than ever before (and I have tried ALL the different Rock Band and guitar hero guitars).I highly recommend this to anyone who likes these music games.
The guitar works for the most part. there are a few times when a button or two does not register. Buttons can be accidentally removed if they get caught on something. Overall no big issues on my end.
